1979: The band FORCE, with Joey Tempest - Vocals, John Norum - Guitar,
Peter Olsson - Bass and Tony Reno - Drums. 1980: FORCE records it's
first demo-tape with 6 songs but gets a negative response
from Swedish record companies. 1981: Peter Olsson leaves the group and
John Levén replaces him. They record anew deamo-tape but they are still
not interested. 1982: A friend of Joey's sends a tape to Swedens biggest
talent contest withoutthe groups nownledge. While the contest is under way
they change the name to EUROPE.Competing with 400 other groups they win
the contest with Joey being named best vocalist and John best guitarist.
First prize is the recording of an album. 1983: EUROPE's debut album is
released in February with stunning reviews.The group tours Sweden in the
spring and the summer. During this time Japan discovers the group and
releases the single Seven Doors Hotel which becomes a big hit. 1984:
EUROPE's new album, Wings Of Tomorrow is released one year to the day after
the band made its debut, with sensational developments during that period
of time. During the Wings tour, Mic Michaeli is recruited to play
keyboards and EUROPE's Jack of all trades , Thomas Erdtman becomes their
manager. Before the second phase of the Wings tour, drummer Tony Reno
leaves the group and is replaced by Ian Haglundof the group Trilogy.
Mic offically becomes a member of the group. 1985: Joey writes musc for
the movie On The Loose , which includes the first versionof Rock The Night .
Meanwhile, Thomas Erdtman gets a green light for a worldwide contract with
Epic Records. Duringthe summer Joey produces Tone Norum's
(John's Sister)
debut LP, writes and participates in Swedish hard rock's own Band aid,
Give A Helping Hand , with Swedish Metal Aid. The single is produced by
Kee Marcello. The remainder of the year is spent recording and prepering
the new album for release in spring of 1986. 1986: The year everything happens.
The Countdown single is released in February, the album in May and in July
the album explodes in Europe. A tour in Japan in September and then back to
Swedenfor more touring plus participation in TV programs all over Europe.
A shock comes in October when John Norum decides to leave Europe; he is
replaced by Kee Marcello. The rest of the world is ready to be conquered and
the first target is the US. 1987: The band embarks upon a world tour, the high
point of which is the American tour during April and May, which gives EUROPE
a Top 10 album. The album stays on the charts for over 60 weeks and produces
four top 20 singles including s number 1 single with Carrie . The year is
an endless procession of successes with The Final Countdown as the common
denominator. The single is number 1 in 26 countries and sells 7.8 million units;
the album sells just over 6 million. EUROPE reaches the rock elite division.
1988: A new album is recorded in London during the winter and the spring; release
is scheduled for the summer. Out Of This World is recived warmly and a tour,
together with Def Leppard, in the States gives the album a greate send off.
During the fall the group tours all over Asia and performs in front og 60.000 people
at a football stadium in Bombay. 1989: The group tours constantly during the
year including massive outdoor show at Milton Keynes with Bon Jovi and Skid Row.
But the general feeling is that it's time to write some new songs. This time
they decide to all write together. 1990: Apart from touring in South-America
and South-East Asia, the band is spending time in the West-Indies, London,
San Fracisco and L.A. writing and recording their new album. 1991: Prisoners
In Paradise is released in September and shows a substantially heavier and
more raw sound than before. The kick off a new tour with a New Year's Eve at
the Tokyo Dome with Metallica, Tesla and Thunder. 1992: The group tours
all over Europe and sounds better than ever. But ten years of touring,
recording and living together has taken its toll. The boys decide to take
a break. Of special note is Joey getting together with John Norum to do a single.
1993: Joey is working on new material, John Levén and Kee Marcello are working on
different projects, Mic Michaeli is producing a young Swedish singer and Ian Haugland
is working with his old band.

Our music cemetery section allows you to connect to long gone artists that made their contribution in developing music as we know it. and that section of that site is made for our visitors to be introduced to these people.

Band fonts section Europe is another category that deserves some attention, especially for those who are big fans of the band Europe and like to collect or create band logos and such. Our band font section has quiet a few different fonts for you to download, so you can type any text the way your favorite band writes their on their album cover.

It's no secret that looking good is a big part of music industry these days and that's why we created Beautiful Divas category. It features the most beautiful female singers and artists out there, such as Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, Christina Aguilera and a few others.

Our Guitarist's section is of course created for those who play guitar. Mostly it's done for those who play either six or sever string guitar, but there is some info for a bass guitar player as well. You can begin by learning the basics of guitar tuning, guitar structure and guitar notes. Various chords are provided in our chord builder, just tons and tons of guitar chords and their alternatives provided in this great tool. Online guitar tuner is another feature, that is very popular among the visitors of our site. Takes only seconds to load the guitar tuner and to get your guitar to sound right. For those who like to experiment with other tunings, the tuning section features a number of alternative guitar tuning, that a lot of bands Europe love to use these days to get their own unique sound. The Guitarist's section also provides our visitors with a few lessons for finger speed, picking and overall laws and rules of music.

Last but not least, musiceffect.com music merchandise is the section where our visitors can buy a poster or a t-shirt of their favorite band Europe. They can purchase sheet music with Europe right tablature for all the songs and subscribe to music related magazines. We also sell tickets to Europe band concerts and you can find out if they are playing around your area.

Musiceffect.com is a growing online community and hopefully will continue on growing and bring you more and more music information.

What are we planning for musiceffect.com? Well, we are planning to do major updates and upgrades for the site. Existing sections will be redone, such as radio and files, new sections will be added such as new forum, private messaging and a lot better and a lot more flexible member's area. Members will be able to submit and rate Europe tablature and lyrics, add pictures and other information about Europe such as reviews, comments, interesting facts in the history of the band Europe. Print tab section will also be updated to make getting the tab or lyrics on the paper a lot easier and more convenient. Top 10 lists and statistics will be upgraded to give our members more information on what others like and dislike. Site search will be changed dramatically and made a lot more flexible, fast and efficient. A lot of ideas, a lot of work and hopefully a lot of results.

Hot Chords sounds are fixed as well. Some visitors had issues with the chords actually playing, so the script that was running the sounds was redone and should be working properly. The best thing to do is to let the page fully load before playing the sound to avoid any possible issues. Band Fonts section was updated with a few new fonts. We are always trying to find new stuff for our visitors who like to use their favorite band's graphics in anything they do, from printing CD or DVD picture covers to simply using it in a college paper heading. Music Magazines section is always full of stuff for you to choose from and the monthly issues are always updated. There are plenty of genres to choose from, starting with Rock and Metal and finishing with Tribal music.
