closer

Note that this may not be totally correct, as I'm trying to adapt a
synth line to guitar-note the tuning...this song is played best with an
envelope filter, but for those who don't have one, a wah sounds ok...

Tuning
(low to high):C,G,D,G,B,E

Well, here is what I could figure out of closer. I dunno why anyone
would really want to play this in a band, unless they had a really
versitle keyboardist, or a realnice midi setup, but here it is anyway.

|--3--5-------------3----3--5----------5-3----|
|------------------------------------------4--|
|--------1--3----3-------------1--3-----------|
|---------------------------------------------|
this is the bass line as far as i can tell
(i've only
heard it on my guitar). it can be played with either
a wah pedal, or with some other funky
(literally) pedal
that i can't remember the name of right now. it's the
same kind they use to do the groovy
(literally) back-
ground guitar in all those old 70's movies.

E|-------------------------|
B|-------------------------|
G|-------------------------|
D|-------------------------|
A|------------------1---2--|
D|--3-3-3-3-3-3-3----------|
ok, here's the first guitar part in the song. it's
basically at the chorus.
(you know the one.. I wanna f**k
you like an animal.... . it's a kinda strange timing, but
not to hard to get the hang of.

G|-7-9-9-9-9-9-7-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-10-10-10-10-10-10-10--12-12-12--13-13-13|
this isn't even a guitar at all, it's keyboard stuff. it's the little riff
that starts right after the first chorus. you can play it if you feel like
it though. i only put one string cause the whole thing is on the g string.

E|----------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------|
G|----------------------------------|
D|--1-1-1-3----------------*--------|
A|--1-1-1-3---------------
(6)-------|
D|--1-1-1-3---------------
(6)-------|
| |
E|----------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------|
G|-------------------------*--------|
D|-----------6-5---3-4-6--
(10)------|
A|-----------4-3-2-1-2-6-3
(8)-6-5-4-|
D|---------------2-------3----6-5-4-|
this is the guitar part that slowly fades in when
the song breaks. the upper part is actually for
a keyboard, but can be played on guitar. although
i have written this section as a two guitar part,
it is playable by one. the * simply means to play
the 8/10 power chord and the bar 6/6 power chord
alternately throughout the part. i.e., play the
8/10 the first time, the 6/6 the second, then the
8/10, then the 6/6, etc...

E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-6--7--8--9--10/11-6--7--8--9--10/11-------------------6--7--8--9--10/11-|
A|-4--5--6--7---8/9--4--5--6--7---8/9--6--7--8--9--10/11-4--5--6--7---8/9--|
D|-------------------------------------6--7--8--9--10/11-------------------|

|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------------------------------6--7--8--9--10/11-|
|-6--7--8--9--10/11-6--7--8--9--10/11-6--7--8--9--10/11-4--5--6--7---8/9--|
|-6--7--8--9--10/11-6--7--8--9--10/11-6--7--8--9--10/11-------------------|
this is the second guitar part that fades in.
(starts a 4:26). there's
really not much to it, just play the two lines above one after the other.

E|----------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------|
G|----------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------------------8--7-6~----|
A|--6'----3~----6'----3~----6'----3~----6'----3~-6--5-4~----|
D|----------------------------------------------------------|
this is the last guitar part in the song. it's just a groovy
little riff that trent through in in the background.
(starts
at 5:09) it ends right when all the other music ends, and the
little extro piano/keyboard thing starts.

E|----------------------------------------|
B|--8~-6~----6~-5~----4~-3~---------------|
G|-----------------------------3-3-2-5----|
D|----------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------3--|
D|----------------------------------------|
this is the little piano/keyboard exto thing
tramscribed for the guitar.
