this is the general keyboard line transcribed for the bass. though there have
been many transcriptions featuring a much simpler bass line, these fail to note
the dropped D tuning, and the single low D played towards the end of the riff.
if you listen closely, you will notice that this riff is played with many
variations throughout the song. feel free to improvise :)

head like a hole 3

The main bassline for the song is:

G|----------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------------
A|----------------------------------------
E|---12-0-0----13-0-0----10-0---5-0--4-0--

This bassline kicks in for all the verses
(God money...etc.) and is the intro
to the song with a drum machine.

I can only play the guitar at the chorus:
It's 2 chords:

E
(XII) 12-14-14-13-12-12
A
(XII) x-12-14-14-14-x

[ In the Video Trent actually plays E
(VII) x
(0)-7-9-9-9-x but the other is
easier to play when singing along, and sounds fine. ]

It's something like:
E////////////////////A////////////////E///////////////////A///
Head Like a Hole, Black as your soul, I'd rather die than give you control
////////////E////////////////////A////////////////E///////////////////A//////
Head Like a Hole, Black as your soul, I'd rather die than give you control

As you can see it's simply thrah out those
(power) chords. You can hear it on
the album.

As for the other bit after the chorus:
Bow down before the one you serve ... etc...
I haven't figured it out yet. It's a different Bassline, possibly with
keyboards.

HEAD LIKE A HOLE:
